NEW SHOW HOMES UNVEILED

Buyers in Cambridgeshire can now get a glimpse inside the first ever modular homes at Northstowe, as two new show homes are unveiled at the House by Urban Splash Inholm neighbourhood.

Inholm is a brand-new quarter for Northstowe – a new town comprising a Primary, Secondary and Area Special School, new parks, an outdoor gym, excellent transport connections and two new lakes, which will host a range of water and land-based activities for outdoor fun and wellbeing.  

While traditional housing dominates other areas of Northstowe, the Inholm quarter is all about customer choice, with buyers able to choose from a range of homes that best suit their lifestyle. With a commitment to helping its residents ‘live well by design’ House by Urban Splash has created six different layouts at Inholm, and crucially, each home’s non-load bearing walls mean that any decisions made now can be swiftly changed in the future and the space reconfigured in line with residents’ changing needs. There are two show homes. The first shows the ‘garden living’ traditional layout, with living areas and an open plan kitchen downstairs, a bedroom, bathroom, snug/home office on the second floor and a master suite and guest bedroom both with en-suite bathrooms on the top floor.

The neighbouring ‘loft living’ home shows how the downstairs can be used for sleeping, with three bedrooms, while the upper floors offer living space, including a grand entertaining space, open plan kitchen and large dining table. These layouts in particular take advantage of the fantastic lakes and landscape beyond.

Both homes have been precision manufactured in the House by Urban Splash factory and are the first ever homes to be created at Northstowe using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), making for a unique aesthetic and a completely new offering for local customers. They comprise 2.6metre high ceilings, oversized windows – offering views across the adjacent lakes and open countryside – and a generous 139 sq m of total space.

The houses also offer exceptional finishes as standard, high-speed broadband and energy-efficient heating - all high requirements for modern living and hybrid working. They all come with a private bike store and parking.

The news comes following a series of announcements which will bolster the Northstowe area; in February, plans were submitted for the third phase of the neighbourhood, while in the spring, South Cambridgeshire District Council announced a five million pound acquisition of the local centre and Enterprise Zone – which will create local jobs, green space, shops, restaurants, cafes and a community building that new and existing residents will benefit from.
