Introducing the new gateway to Northstowe

The new access road now open

As Northstowe develops into a thriving new town, it’s vital that the right measures are in place to improve transport connections for residents, commuters and visitors.

Homes England has been working hard to provide quick, smooth and safe access to Northstowe. The new access road, footways and cycleways offer long-term solutions, linking Northstowe to Bar Hill, Cambridge and beyond.

Your safety is our priority

How we’re controlling speed and safety:

  • Speed limits for each section of road will be appropriately signed and monitored and are enforceable.

  • There are crossings and junctions along the road at various points, including a roundabout.

How we’re supporting active travel:

  • New cycleways and pathways have been created to support people to get around by bike, horse and on foot safely.

  • Parking is prohibited on the cycleways – please help by not parking on these to support student safety at Northstowe Secondary College.
